SEN Information Report
At Margaretting Primary School we are an inclusive school where we strongly believe that every child matters, we work hard to help all children achieve their full potential, irrespective of their starting points. A child is considered to have Special Educational Needs where their learning or disability calls for special educational provision; that is provision that is different from or additional to that normally available to pupils of the same age. We aim to identify a child’s additional needs at an early stage so that provision can be put in place for them as soon as possible. Children on the special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) register benefit from the Essex approach of ‘One Planning’ which is focused on child-centred reviews and individual provision mapping. All children need different levels of support at different times and at Margaretting Primary School we work closely with the team around each family to identify the individual needs of every pupil and decide on the best course of action at any given time. Children are encouraged to take responsibility for their learning and are supported to develop a high level of self-esteem, confidence and motivation.
Our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) is Mrs Janice Fisher. She can be contacted via the school office or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Governor contacts for SEND are Liz Fajimolu and Suzanne Farris.
