E-Safety

At Margaretting C of E Primary School we are committed to the safety and care of all of our pupils and that includes e-safety. Termly safeguarding training often includes an update of apps and games that children might be using.

As can be seen on the medium term plans, safety online is a core theme that runs through the computing curriculum across all year groups and is built on as the children progress through the school.

Children have had training on e-safety from the NSPCC, which was followed up by a parent workshop on how they can keep their children safe online. Essex Council has provided Year 6 children with e-safety training also. The school regularly sends information to parents on new apps that children may use, as well as reminding them of the age limits and potential dangers. If staff are made aware of children being on apps or games that are not age-appropriate, parents are spoken to by a senior member of staff and reminded about the possible dangers of their children using them.

Free courses for parents are available on the ESCB website.
